For those who are interested in making this scarf, please refer to my previous post "Rows Of Shells Scarf".  Please note that the photo shows the scarf including the lace edges which was added after the main fabric of the scarf is crocheted.  Pattern for the lace edging is pending.

Yarn: Caron Simply Soft, 6 oz./315/yds. (1 skein for short scarf or 2 skeins for long scarf) Crochet Hook: Boye 5.00mm Tapestry Needle Stitches Used: Sc = Single crochet Dc= Double crochet Ch= Chain Sp = Space Sk = Skip  Rows of Shells Scarf The Pattern: Ch 42 (Shell) R1: 3dc on 7th ch/st from hook, catching one loop of the chain only.  Ch1, 3 dc on same st; ch1 sk 4 sts (stitches), sc on two loops of next st.  NOTE: ONE FULL SHELL MADE. * Ch1, sk 4 sts, 3dc on next  (one loop only) stitch; ch1, 3dc on same st.  Ch1, sk next 4 sts, sc on 2 loops of next st.* NOTE: ANOTHER FULL SHELL MADE. Repeat * * until there are four full shells. (V Stitch) R2: Ch4, dc on 5th st from hook, * ch2, sc on 2 loops (facing away from you) of next ch-1.  NOTE:  ONE V STITCH MADE.  Ch2, dc on next sc; ch2, dc on same sc.* NOTE SECOND V STITCH IS MADE.  Repeat * * until there are 5 V stitches.  EXCEPTION:  ON THE LAST V STITICH, MAKE A 1 CHAIN (INSTEAD OF 2) BETWEEN THE DC POSTS T

Cowl/Scarf

Tools and Materials:  Crochet Hook: Boye 5mm.  Yarn: Caron Simply Soft, 6 oz, 315 yds, 1 skein.  Tapestry needle with blunt end. Note: 1 skein of  6 oz/315 yards of above yarn will approximately make a  9 inch wide by 51 1/2 inch long scarf. Crochet Stitches Used: Chain (ch), slip stitch (slst), double crochet (dc), sc (single crochet). Crochet Abbreviation and Terminology used: * * Means to do or repeat the instructions between these two asterisks. R = Row, ch = chain, sc = single crochet, dc = double crochet, sp = space, lp = loop, st = stitch Ch1 or ch2 etc.... (verb).  It means to make one chain or make 2 chains. Ch-1 or Ch-2 etc...(adjective).  It means that there is a one chain or there are two chains. Example:  Ch-1 space means the space is created when making one chain.  Ch-3 space means the space is created when making 3 chains.  Sometimes loop or loops may be used instead of space, thus ch-1 loop or ch-2 loop.
