Note:  Mesh Crochet Stitch (Netting Crochet Stitch is usually made up of odd number of chains (stitches).  These chains create spaces or holes.  In crochet, these spaces are simply called spaces :).  The group of chains are usually referred to as loops in crochet.  Example: Ch-5 loop, ch-3 loop, ch-7 loop etc.  Spaces in conjunction with chains are also written in most crochet instructions as, ch-5 space, ch-3 space, ch-7 space etc.
