Crochet-Motif-ation

Materials: Tools -  Boye Crochet hook: size 4.25; crochet hook 3.25 to pull the tail of yarn through stitches to hide it. Pair of scissors Crochet abbreviations used: Slst = Slip stitch is use at end of round to close the last stitch of the round Sc = Single crochet Esc = Extended single crochet Ch = Chain Tc = Triple crochet The photo shows how I organize different color of yarns I used in this project. Round 2.  Step 1: Insert hook on the space (sp) next to the ending slip stitch (slst) and get ready to attach the new yarn. Step 2: Using the working end of the new yarn do a yarn over (yo) Step 3:  Draw up a loop Step 4:  Using the tail of the yarn, yo once Step 5:  Draw up a loop through the loop on hook Step 6:  Pull the tail all the way out the loop Step 7:  Align the two tails together Step 8:  Insert hook one space back from the slip stitch as shown. Step 9:  Yo once Step 10:  Draw up a loop Step 11:  *Ch4.  Getting ready to make a  flower petal. Step 12:  Make tc (triple crochet):  Yo twice so that you see three total loops on hook Step 13:   Photo shows the completed tc.  Continue making tc by:  Insert hook on the same space where the ch4 is fastened. Before Showing the steps for making Round 1 of the flower, I thought I'd show you how to make a slip knot using the crochet hook: Step 1:  Hold the hook against the yarn as shown.  Note that the tip of the hook is pointing up. Step 2: Rotate the tip of the hook so that it points down.  Note that the yarn is twisted. Step 3:  Continue to rotate the tip of the hook so that the tip is pointing up. Step 4:  Hold the yarn where it is twisted and make sure that the loop on hook is loose as shown on photo. Step 5:  Yo once as shown Step 6:  Draw up a loop through the loop on hook as shown on photo Step 7:  Use the hook to tug on the knot and pull it tight.  This closes the slip knot. Step 8:  Adjust the loop on hook by tightening or loosening as needed to begin crocheting.  The loop on hook can be loosened by using the crochet hook to pull away from the knot and it can be tightened by pulling the workin...
